Yodit’s worldview, shaped by her experiences in the US and abroad, informs her practice.
As a social work subject matter expert, she has had the honor of facilitating a number of in-person and virtual workshops, training hundreds of people across ages and cultures, and using her voice to bring awareness and bridge communities. Additionally, throughout her career, she served as a Program Manager in Foster Care, Adoption, Immigration and Refugee social service programs, and most recently has been providing individualized parent coaching services. Yodit specializes in the areas of child development, conscious parenting, social and emotional development, and cultural responsiveness.
Yodit has dedicated her time to address various social service issues in school settings for faculties, parents, organizations, and community associations to help them navigate the complexities of parenting. This includes navigating topics like the generational gap, communication skills, emotional intelligence, child abuse prevention, identification and intervention, awareness of mental health issues, child development, and understanding the impact of trauma in parenting.
As a mother of four independent adult children, Yodit’s personal experiences have greatly informed her professional practice and it is the driving force that humanizes her work. After bravely immigrating from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to Boston, Massachusetts she received her Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from Boston College. She also received a certificate in 2018 from Yale University in Leadership and Management and is a certified Parent Coach.
